It's time for Aloha Friday! The day I ask a simple question and you answer! Thanks to Kailani over on An Island Life for the original idea. If you'd like to participate, head on over to her blog, and follow the instructions! It's a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question for this week:
What is your preferred method for cleaning up those crumbs on the kitchen floor? Broom and dust pan or hand vac?
I could not live without my Dustbuster! It's great because even the kids can use it. Although, now that they are 5 and almost 8, they aren't quite as excited about vacuuming for mom as when they were 2 and 3 years old! Not understanding that other people do not share the same feelings about hand vacs, I bought a Dustbuster for my mother-in-law a few years ago. I was sure I was doing her a favour and had rescued her forever from her broom and dust pan. The Dustbuster now proudly hangs in her (detached) garage!! The broom and dust pan are still just a few steps away in the coat closet! Oh well!
P.S. After receiving a few comments, let me just clarify... My Dustbuster is cordless and it sits in it's charger right next to my dining room table. I do not drag out a vac with a cord everytime I need to clean a mess!

Definitely my dustbuster or main vacuum.. I cannot stand to sweep.. it just doesn't do the job!!
Broom and dustpan. It is right there. I hate having to go get the handvac or worryiing about plugging it in.
I use a broom and dustpan the most, easier than getting out the vac.
I use my broom and dustpan.
Broom and dust pan. Or dog.
I hate to sweep. I have a small shop-vac that I use all the time.
It is agreat new invention you should try it it is called dog's....lol
Gotta go with my handy hand vac! MUCH easier!
Typically it's - Dog tongue! Then I get to mop but oh, well. The dogs are very happy!
I'm with sues2u2 - Max does a great job of cleaning up everything that falls on the floor ... but then you'll find me on my hands and knees a little later with a hot cloth and some Mr. Clean cleaning up the drool he leaves behind.
Have a fabulous weekend, guys!!

We have a broom vac that I love. LOL at all the dog comments.
I love my dustbuster but the handbroom and dustpan can get under there better.
I loved my dustbuster until it no longer kept a charge. Now I sweep for quick pick ups and use my big vac when needed.
Yes, the dog comments are very funny. I'll use that on my pro side of why we need a dog one day.
I sweep and THEN use the hand vac. I had one and I guess it became extinct b/c I COULD NOT find the darn filter replacements. My new one is great. Its small and light and the button is easy for the kids to use. My kids LOVE having their turn to use it.
Full Blown vacuum cleaner. Our house is almost all tile so I end up vacumming a bunch. I don't even own an inside broom.
Good question! I'm a broom and dustpan girl!
broom and dustpan - countless times a day! someone told me i should get a roomba and i'm seriously considering it.
I do the broom and dust pan. I don' think the dustbuster does a good enough job
My method of choice is dog tongue. But since I don't have one, I settle for my dustbuster. I've also tried praying them away and waiting until they stick to the bottom of our feet and are tracked away...neither of these are as successful as the first two.
My method of choice is the broom and dust pan and Daniel of course. Maria's not much of a sweeper, but Daniel loves to sweep and get Momma to help with the dust pan....he rakes leaves, too! Who needs a dustbuster?!?!
Good ol dustpan and broom. However, did recently get a Broom Vac (Dirt Devil) and it's pretty cool. Just sweep & suck!
